RGC was engaged by CBRE on behalf of their client SCA Property to publicise the landmark refurbishment of West End’s historic Tristram’s soft drink factory.
The Soda Factory development pays homage to the building’s nearly 100-year history and original use as a soda making and bottling facility for iconic Queensland soft drink brand Tristram’s.
Located on the corner of Boundary and Mollison Streets, the building operates as The Markets at West End but following completion of an upgrade to the main Coles tenancy the remainder of the centre has undergone a complete refurbishment and modernisation.
Media & PR
Through developing a media relations campaign to publicise the refurbishment announcement and build the profile with key stakeholder groups including local residents and prospective tenants, the Soda Factory was featured in key media including The Courier-Mail, Brisbane Times/SMH, ABC Brisbane, Seven News and local Brisbane and West End outlets. The media narrative focused on the history surrounding the building and site and how the developer would preserve its historic value and be welcomed by the community. SCA also commissioned local Aboriginal artists to develop a stunning wall mural which connects the area’s significance for Aboriginal people with the more recent history of the site as the Tristram’s Soda Factory. The unveiling of this mural provided an added opportunity for media coverage and social media content.
